Our first trip on the boat started in Annapolis Maryland and ended in Miami Florida. In 4 to 6 foot seas we rounded Cape Hatteras shoals off North Carolina. The trampolines and front compression platform did not drain water quickly enough and failed. The platform snapped in half, permanently deflected the front cross beam down 6 inches and tore stitching in the trampolines. Voyage accepted no responsibility even though they sell the vessel as ocean going and had initially agreed to fix the boat. Refer to Broken Promise #1. Sparcraft, the manufacturer of the aluminum extrusions accepted no responsibility. The insurance claim was denied. The surveyor, hired by the insurance company, blames a bad design with respect to shedding water. His report is below the pictures. Steve Slatter Insurance was quite ineffective with an insurance claim. We paid for the entire repair as of this date.
Below is the surveyor's report. Select the BACK button on your browser to return to this page.
